Thanks for posting your process in detail. It is a very promissing project, but I can also see where yyour difficulties are. When you use the quasycristal geometryy in various sizes, gaps emerge. I will connect you directly with the women who wrote the paper I gave you. She also built the pink model in the paper. She may be able to get you the geometry right...
